Boy Charged With Felonies Following Alleged Stabbing

On Behalf of | Apr 18, 2019 | Felonies, Firm News

A teenage boy in Minnesota was recently accused of stabbing a woman at an elementary school playground. He is also accused of selling a drug near the school. The boy now faces charges of felonies in connection with the alleged crimes.

According to police, the stabbing took place on a Tuesday night. When they arrived at the school, they reportedly discovered the boy with a knife in his hand. In addition, the woman was allegedly unconscious beside him on the ground, and a knife-inflicted wound was in her abdomen.

The woman ended up passing away later at the hospital. Meanwhile, the boy was arrested at the school. Police said they believe that the two parties had planned to connect at the school and that the alleged stabbing was the result of a drug deal-related dispute. The boy now faces a charge of murder in the second degree as well as the sale of drugs.

Understandably, the boy who has been accused of felonies may feel afraid and vulnerable, as he may worry about how the charges will impact his future. The boy may proceed to trial to fight the felony charges in Minnesota. However, if the prosecutor’s evidence appears to be strong, it may behoove him to seek a plea deal with the prosecution instead. A plea deal might lead to a more lenient sentence than what would be possible with a guilty verdict at trial. Either way, an attorney will push for the most favorable outcome, considering the circumstances.
